CONFERENCE  THEME :  VISION 2020 – Managerial Challenges & Strategies  

The beginning of the 21st century  is a story of resurgent  India.  How  India  can sustain on that  resurgence in the world arena  is a  point of study. While there are many perspectives of visions of India’s future, India needs to address  many fundamental issues, before it can   hold centre stage in world affairs. 

What then are the fundamental managerial  challenges  affecting  India which it needs to address and how can we come up with strategies for  the same.

With this perspective, IBS Ahmedabad, opens up its doors to a lively 3-day 3rd International Conference on Management – IBSA-ICON 09 – at Ahmedabad between 02nd and 04th January  2009  for a constructive dialogue on managerial  issues  to confront the challenges  with suitable strategies.

STRUCTURE
The Conference offers an opportunity for researchers, policy makers and industry practitioners from across the globe to engage in a constructive dialogue on Vision 2020-Managerial Challenges & Strategies. The Conference program is designed to offer a mix of research papers, presentations including case studies, invited lectures and roundtable/panel discussions. On the first day there will be 5 plenary sessions on the sub-themes, followed by about 25 technical sessions on the second day and 3 plenary sessions on the last day of the Conference.

CALL FOR PAPERS :
As an integral part of the Conference, papers on the theme – both conceptual as also empirical are invited from : Researchers including students from educational institutions and universities in India and Abroad

EXECUTIVE SUMMARIES


Executive Summaries must be of minimum 1000 to maximum 1500 words.   The Executive Summary must include :

 

    • Title of presentation
    • 3 to 5 key words
    • General topic of relevance for the selected theme / sub-theme
    • Author’s name, title, organization affiliation, addresses (postal and email),
      phone/fax numbers, and Clearly delineated  objective, scope, developments, and conclusions are to be covered.

Last date for communication re. paper acceptance

Last date for submission of full papers/presentations : 15th November, 2008.

The Executive Summaries  / Full Papers  shall be sent to the Conference Coordinator in MS Word format with double line spacing (A/4 paper size)  by email to : ibsa.icon09@ibsindia.org or ibsaicon09@gmail.com

All paper submissions will be subject to blind review by multiple reviewers. Authors should avoid identifying themselves in the text or title. The Conference organizers will have the final authority over the review process and all decisions relating to acceptance of papers. Review criteria include originality of ideas, managerial and technical soundness, significance of results, and quality of presentation. Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted papers will be communicated to the corresponding author.

PAPER PRESENTATION IN ABSENTIA
Those who cannot come to the Conference for reasons beyond their control, but wish to present a paper in absentia are encouraged to send in full paper by 15th November, 2008.  Such papers, if fit in the conference theme and volume, could as an exception, be included in the conference proceedings. A processing fee of US $ 50 (Rs. 500 for scholars in India) should be included for each paper submitted for presentation in absentia.

PAPER PRESENTATION SCHEDULE
Accepted papers from the entries received will be invited for presentation during the conference

BEST PAPER AWARDS
Outstanding paper awards will be given to the best papers, one in each of the three categories viz., research, conceptual and student categories presented at the conference.

PUBLICATIONS

Conference proceedings consisting of papers which the committee would find to be enriching, would be published in the form of a book which will be released during the inaugural session of the Conference.  The best papers may also be published in the appropriate ICFAI Publications. Following are the registration fee details for  IBSAICON ’09 Conference

For Indian Participants/Delegates:
Delegates from Academic Institutions (India)                      Rs.2,500/-  each
Corporate/Industry Delegates (India)                                     Rs.3,500/-  each
Students from Institutions within India                                  Rs.1,000/-  each
For Foreign Participants/Delegates: US$ 200 or equivalent in Indian Rupees.

The registration fee includes admission to all plenary and technical sessions,  tea breaks, lunches, dinner and other social events. The participants are welcome to bring in guests. A nominal guest registration fee of Rs. 1000/- will be charged which  includes tea-breaks, lunches, dinner and other social events.

The above fees does not include accommodation charges.
